Accessibility

UBC provides a variety of services and accommodations to ensure our campus is as accessible as possible. If it is difficult for you to navigate around campus, browse options to support you, including accessible parking spaces, transit routes, and ride services. You can also book the UBC Accessibility Shuttle, a free, shared ride service that can bring you to areas of campus that can otherwise be accessed only by foot. If you require an accompanying person to the Conference to attend with you to support your accessibility needs, please contact us with your request.

UBC Wayfinding can help you identify accessible entrances and distinguish between power and manual doors.

Accessible Transit: not all local TransLink stops are wheelchair-accessible. Plan a route that works for you. UBC’s bus routes 68 and 70, which are wheel-chair accessible, are available for trips between key campus locations and the UBC Bus Exchange. Learn more.

If you require assistance to take transit, you can use HandyDART, a door-to-door shared ride service.

Accessible parking spaces are available across campus for those with a SPARC (accessibility) permit. If you believe you may need a special parking accommodation due to medical reasons, please contact the Centre for Accessibility if you are a student or the Workplace Health Services if you are a faculty or staff member.

If you have questions: The UBC Centre for Accessibility facilitates disability-related accommodations and programming initiatives designed to remove barriers for students with disabilities and ongoing medical conditions. Contact the Centre by email at info.accessibility@ubc.ca or call 604 822 5844.
